RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS POLICY

  • The Garden Sewing School is a small, family run business with a maximum of 5 spaces available in our group classes. Therefore our classes are non-refundable once booked. If at least two weeks notice is given, we will endeavour to transfer your booking onto the same course at a later date (if spaces are available). Please get in touch via our contact form to discuss transferring a booking.

  • If cancelling a confirmed private class you must give at least 48 hours notice or incur a cancellation fee of £40 which will be added to your invoice and payable via bank transfer.

  • If The Garden Sewing School is forced to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances we will contact you with as much notice as possible and issue a full refund within 10 working days of the cancellation using the billing information from your purchase. 

ABSENCE & LATENESS

  • Our Courses run each term in blocks of 6 weeks and courses are sold as a full block at a reduced rate up until the start day of the course. From that point onwards if there are open spaces we will sell individual sessions at a normal rate.

  • We understand students may not be able to attend each week of a course, However we are unable to offer makeup classes on simultaneous or future courses for those who miss booked sessions.

  • Our courses run at a set time though students are welcome to arrive at any point during the lesson.

 

TERMS OF SERVICE

  • By completing a booking via The Garden Sewing School website you are accepting responsibility for reading, understanding, and agreeing to be bound these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these Terms of Service, then you must discontinue your booking.

  • If you are booking our courses for participants under the age of 18 we will require you to sign a consent form prior to the class. In this form you will need to specify whether you are happy for your child to make their own way home from The Garden Sewing School and disclose any medical conditions that we should be aware of.

  • The Garden Sewing School cannot accept liability for loss or damage to work or belongings left unattended.

  • While at The Garden Sewing School you are agreeing to follow a respectful code of conduct between staff and students. Any disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated and we reserve the right to remove participants who do not comply with this code of conduct.

  • Our Terms of Service are subject to changes and modifications in the future to reflect changes made to our business or new laws and regulations.

PARTICIPANT WAIVER TERMS

  • Participants or Parents/Guardians of participants must recognise and understand that sewing is an activity that involves potentially dangerous machinery and equipment and that participation might result in serious injury requiring medical attention.

  • Participants or Parents/Guardians of participants must recognise and understand that there may be other risks that are not known to The Garden Sewing School and not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

  • Participants or Parents/Guardians of participants must agree to inform the staff member if they believe anything is unsafe or beyond their capability and refuse to participate in such circumstances

  • Participants or Parents/Guardians of participants must accept personal responsibility for any damages that may result from injury

  • Participants or Parents/Guardians of participants must understand the importance of following the health and safety guidelines set out by the teacher.

  • Participants or Parents/Guardians of participants must agree to sign permission forms and waivers prior to participation in lessons, courses and private tuition at The Garden Sewing School

COVID POLICY

  • The Garden Sewing School complies with current government guidelines for covid safety in the workplace.

  • The school will maintain limited numbers of students with a maximum of 6 participants for booked classes and 10 participants for private parties.

  • The space is well ventilated, and windows are kept open during classes.

  • Mask-wearing is encouraged but not required for participants

  • Social distancing will be maintained where possible.

  • Teachers are fully vaccinated.

PRIVACY POLICY

  • The Garden Sewing School retains customer order information when a booking is made on the website. This includes name, address, email and phone number which we will need in order to take payment and communicate with you about your booking. 

  • Booking a class through our site will automatically sign you up to receive our email newsletter to keep you updated on new classes and workshops at The Garden Sewing School. You are able to unsubscribe from these emails at any time by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ on the newsletter.  

  • Our payment gateway is secure and when booking through our website your card details are processed by independent payment service provider, Stripe. The Garden Sewing School will not retain personal payment information on our servers and all data stored and transmitted is encrypted between our site and our secure payment gateway.

  • This privacy policy is subject to updates in the future as changes are made to our business or to reflect new laws and regulations.
