WHAT TO MAKE

  • Nothing is off limits, whatever garment, accessory or full outfit you’d like to make we can help you make by giving pattern suggestions or guiding you in how to draft your own pattern.

  • For beginners we recommend starting with simple accessories like bags, pouches, aprons as you can learn essential sewing skills without having to worry about fitting.

  • For confident beginners-intermediate sewists we recommend starting with patterns for simple tops, elasticated waistband trousers, wrap skirts, pyjamas or sweaters

  • For intermediate-advanced sewists test out your fitting skills with a zip back dress, a button up shirt, a pair of jeans or even a tailored suit

WHAT TO BRING

  • At The Garden Sewing School we use brand new Janome digital sewing machines.

  • All equipment, notions and standard calico fabric will be provided.

  • You are welcome to bring your own machine & equipment if you prefer.

  • We have a small range of in-house patterns and simple fabrics to get you started but we recommend bringing your own patterns and fabric. Let us know if you’d like any recommendations before the class.

  • If you would like to buy your fabrics to bring to class we recommend our favourite eco friendly, sustainable online fabric store https://goodfabric.co.uk/ you will receive 15% discount with your booking
